First off, you’re going to have a pile of people here telling you that “trickle down economics” is not a real theory, that it doesn’t exist. The term “Trickle-down” was used by the Tis the damn season shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this humorist Will Rogers in a 1932 newspaper column. He was ridiculing a very old idea that has been labeled with various names and catch phrases, probably for centuries, but is known most recently as Supply-side economics, or Reaganomics. People know perfectly well what the question is referring to, but this is a technical error that they can seize upon to establish their authority on the subject. What’s key is where do they go from there . . . You’re going to say, “my name’s Jim, and, no, it would be a huge mistake throwing gas onto a fire, are you crazy?
